You need to go to Show extended settings button which is placed at the downside of the VLC media player's interface. The Adjustments and Effects window will pop up and you need to go to Video Effects tab, select Crop and type 0 in all the fields (Top, Bottom, Left and Right). You can also check "Synchronize top and bottom" and "Synchronize left and right" boxes.

My satellite receiver records on TS file format. How can I convert the file in order to play it on VLC Media Player?

D
Answer by Dan Angel

As you can see on the official web page, the latest version of VLC Media Player supports TS files. If you don't have the latest version of the application installed on your computer, navigate to the Downloads page, click the Download VLC button, save the file to your computer and install it following the on-screen instructions. After that, launch the program and from the File menu select Open. Use the Browse option to select the file and click Open. If you have issues, download and install Combined Community Codec Pack.

I came to know that VLC Media Player affects laptop speakers. I have not personally experienced any problem until now.I am currently using VLC and I want to know Is that true?

N
Answer by Nic

Using VLC Media Player regularly at volumes over 100% can damage the speakers. It isn't guaranteed (none of my laptops have had speaker problems due to VLC, despite regular use of the program), but it is a good idea to be careful.

Yepp. Please remove/change this version-listing since 1.0.0.99 probably only is a really unstable beta that can't be found easily. The latest public version at the moment is 0.9.9
