Extract Audio with VLC Media Player

VLC media player supports a lot of formats and can help you with several not so usual tasks, like extracting audio from a video file. There are only several easy steps to be taken to achieve the goal. Follow them to extract an audio file you need.

  • Go to Media > Convert/Save
  • Select the desired file
  • Click on Convert / Save
  • Click on the Profile menu and select the Audio format
  • Click on the settings icon next to the menu
  • Switch to audio codec here to change output settings
  • Click on browse next to destination file
  • Click on save once you are finished
